Project Validation Report is underway

This venue was included in the Sport Venue Review and, based on the recommendations, is proceeding as planned.

Previously known as the Chandler Aquatic Centre, this venue has been a swimming stronghold since hosting the Brisbane 1982 Commonwealth Games and other high-profile events in the past 40 years. Revamping the famed pool at Chandler will once again leave the centre as an aquatic legacy for the public, schools and clubs in and around the region.

Brisbane 2032 use:

The upgraded Brisbane Aquatic Centre is earmarked to be used for training camps and competitions by elite teams from across the globe in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

During the Games, it is earmarked to host Olympic diving, artistic swimming and water polo, and the Paralympic aquatics, with 4,300 spectator seats.

The Brisbane 2032 venues and villages program currently includes competition venues for hosting 28 Olympic and 22 Paralympic sports.
